22. Gratitude for 2024

Yep you read that right…In this episode we’re going to talk about what you want to create next year that you will be glad you did when next Thanksgiving rolls around.

Even without having any idea what 2024 will hold, we can all decide now on some things we can create no matter what comes our way. After we look back with gratitude on 2023 we will explore some things that we can create in 2024. Things like new habits, goals and even character traits like being more calm and patient. From creating little habits like drinking more water each day to accomplishing big goals like getting out of debt, I’ll give you ideas and inspiration to empower you to make 2024 the best it can be.

For inspiration, here’s a list of 50 habit ideas you could adopt in 2024. Keep in mind, these are just examples. Please adapt them to your own personal situation. (For example: If 10 push-ups sounds like too much, set a goal to do 3.)

  1. Be on time

  2. Make your bed

  3. Drink water first thing every morning

  4. Do 10 push-ups

  5. Pray

  6. Do some type of movement

  7. Meditate/breathe/get centered

  8. Read something uplifting

  9. Make a healthy food swap (i.e. Replace sugar with maple syrup or honey.)

  10. Write in your journal (one word or one page. Anything counts)

  11. Run the dishwasher first thing in the morning or right before bed

  12. Do one load of laundry

  13. Practice a new language

  14. Save at least $1

  15. Give at least one compliment

  16. Do a 30-second plank

  17. Go for a five minute walk

  18. Give at least one hug

  19. Clean up your kitchen before bed

  20. Drink a green smoothie

  21. Try something new (new food, new recipe, class at the gym, etc.)

  22. Practice an instrument

  23. Learn one thing to improve a skill/interest talent (like photography, gardening, or cooking).

  24. Read to your kids

  25. Make some homemade food (Even a bowl of oatmeal counts.)

  26. Take a brown bag lunch

  27. Go outside

  28. Floss your teeth

  29. Drink 3 glasses of water. (Bonus points if you replace a cup of soda or other beverage with water.)

  30. Do one cleaning task

  31. Donate one item (Keep a running donation box to make this easy.)

  32. Discard one item. (Could be old food, a stained t-shirt, a broken or annoying toy. Just toss something each day!)

  33. Weigh yourself. (NOT if this triggers you!)

  34. Wash and moisturize your face

  35. Apply sunscreen

  36. Say an affirmation (or 5!)

  37. Do something nice for someone else

  38. Take a multivitamin

  39. Stretch one body part

  40. Find a reason to laugh

  41. Do a crossword puzzle, sudoku etc.

  42. Purposely say something nice about your family members or friends to someone else

  43. Encourage your child or children’s efforts

  44. Use a planner

  45. Log your meals

  46. Eat a fruit and a vegetable

  47. Wipe off the kitchen counter

  48. Sweep the floor

  49. Go to bed on time (you define)

  50. Wake up on time (you define)
